Music To My Ears

Well as a lot of you have noticed, I haven't been updating my blog for a very long while. Well the reason for that is that I had graduated, not passed my cosmetology exam & had to retake it. Luckily! I retook my exam and passed, then the same day that I passed my exam I found a job at a nail salon. I am very blessed to have been given such an opportunity especially, because before I got my license I couldn't find even one job opening. So as of right now I am working full time at my job & only have only one day off, so with that being said it is especially hard for me to post & balance both my social life & job. So I am extremely sorry for the months of inconsistent posts, but now that this is cleared up I hope that all of you will understand my situation when  I do not post. Now on to the post!
-
I have been taking a blast from the past by listening to music from when I was a freshman in high school & so on. I don't know why I stopped listening to bands...? Don't get my wrong I still love me some Drake, A$AP Rocky & Chris Brown, but as I once I listened to A Day To Remember, New Found Glory & The Used, it really did bring back  a lot of memories. Since I'm barely getting back into listening to some new, but old music I thought I'd post some of my favorite songs at the moment. I'll be sure to keep you updated on some of top music picks of the moment. Some of these songs might be new or old, but my music choices are always changing depending on my mood. I even find myself playing a certain song on repeat for week straight & then wanting to never hear that song the next. I'm also on the constant look out for new music, so please let me know what music all of you are into at the moment. I'd love to know & please feel free to click on the links below & take a listen to my top five picks on november!

-
Well here it is, my Summer Fashion Essentials 2013! I didn't follow any rules or trends that are in at the moment, I just simply chose what I liked & thought would be great picks for this years summer. My first pick are a must for the hot weather & as well as a great way to show off your beautifully tanned legs. Dresses are also a great piece to just pop on & head out! Sunglasses are such a great accessory that can change any outfit or add a little extra something. When heading out to the beach or festivals it's nice to have a light pair of shoes, so that you can take a break from those tall tiring heels. I've also chosen a backpack for a few reason, one being that it was just so cute & the color was so eye catching to me. A cute hang bag or shoulder bag would be cute too if you prefer something more light. I like that the backpack is great for putting all your things such as a camera, laptop, keys, snacks & more! A hat can provide protection from the sun & just like the sunglasses can change an outfit. If you have  a very basic outfit, adding a hat can change the style completely. If you wanted to add something a bit more colorful too, that would be great. And lastly, bathing suits, are a definite must for summer fashion. I've been in love with cutouts lately & I think these bathing suits are just phenomenal! You'll definitely be catching some stares in these & if feel like these are a bit overdramatic, you could easily substitute it for a class one or two piece bathing suit of your choice. When it comes to bathing suits, its whatever makes you feel comfortable & beautiful, no bathing suit is in or out of style!

Journal Entry: April 11, 2013

Well being that this is my first journal entry, where should I start? It's been a crazy month & what's even crazier is that in a couple of weeks I'll be graduating from cosmetology school. I find myself constantly asking myself if I'm ready to take on the responsibility of being an adult. It feels like just yesterday that I was sitting in my homeroom in high school without a care in the world. Everything is so different now & to be completely honest I'm scared. Scared of life...the challenges that I have to face...will I be okay all on my own? If I'm sounding negative, that's not my intention. It's the pressure...pressure to have a career, to live on my own, meet my soul mate, get married, have kids, everything! I know I'm young, but I can't help, but think of the future & what is to come. Whether it be good or bad, it's always uncertain, but it's all based on your present actions. So in the end it makes sense that I feel this way, right? Could it be that I'm making myself believe that I need to be perfect & have a perfect life?
-
Even though there is a great amount of pressure going on in this point in my life I can say that I have had my happy moments. Meeting people has always been a bit difficult for me at times considering that I am an outcast, but while I have been in school I've met some incredible people! And even though I won't mention there names they know who they are. They've been there for me, through the bad & the good. No matter what I've had a shoulder to cry on or open arms to go to. I can really say that no matter what I want them to stay in my life, because they mean a lot to me. To me my friends are family, forever!
-
Once I do graduate school I really hope to expand my education in every aspect of cosmetology. From extensions to individual eyelashes, I want to do it all! But my real passion lies in becoming a make up artist, whether it be runway or working with celebrities, if it has to do with make up I want to do it! I've never loved something more in my life. I get so much pleasure from doing someone's make up. I believe that the body is a canvas, it's there to be decorated. Some people decorate with clothing or tattoos, but I choose to decorate with blush, eyeshadow, lipstick & so much more! The results that make up gives you after the finished product is simply amazing! The power of make up is powerful & it's also a great way to express yourself. There are so many more reason why I have such a great passion for becoming a freelance make up artist, they're endless! Eventually, if I get the chance, I want to attend school to become a professional make up artist. The reason behind this is that even though you don't have to attend school to be a make up artist, I feel that I have so much more to learn. I'd like to get information, techniques & experience first hand from the people who have working in the industry. I want to hear their stories, get an internship, meet amazing people & so much more. This is just my personal preference, but life is crazy so you never know what might happen. All you can do is hope for the best!

I have been in love with the whole laid back grungy style lately & I think that it's here to stay! For todays polyvore set I put together this, that features picks like biker boots, but I toned it down with some creme colors. I really do love these both together, because it shows a tough side & a slightly more girly side all in one. This outfit is great for everyday or even to run errands, but you can tone it down or up as much as you like, maybe even switch out the boots or top to your personal taste. It really is extremely versatile. You can also play around with your makeup as much as you like, I chose to keep it in the cremes, because I wanted a more softer look, but you can maybe pop on some red lipstick for a more sexier look. Adding little or no jewelry is also something that I decided to keep minimal in this outfit, because I feel that it's better to play around with your makeup than adding big chunky bracelets, flashy earrings, etc. I hope you all enjoyed my set & even though I had originally planned to do a haul,  I am really excited to make more sets! Let me know what you think & I hope all of you are having an amazing day!

Spotlight: Lexi Lazaro

Age: 21
Location: Bel Air, MD
Occupation: Full Time Student & Part Time Server

Q: How would you describe your style? Would you say you follow any "trends"?
A: Hmm, I don't know if I could pin down my style to just one trend because occasionally I'll switch it up a bit, but I've always kind of followed the whole street style trend with my own little twist.
-
Q: Who or what inspires you fashion & beauty wise? Do you have any fashion or beauty idols?
A: There is this girl Courtney, that runs a blog called dirtylittlestylewhoree & I think her style is absolutely fabulous. Other than that I think I get a lot of inspiration from random blogs, the polyvore site, and just things around me (cute patterns, art, etc.)

Q: What are your top favorite beauty products, beauty essentials?
A: Urban Decay's: Naked Basics Pallet
Eos: Lip Balm In Strawberry Sorbet
Lancome's: Day & Night Moisturizers
Benefit's: They're Real Mascara
Benefit's: Hoola Bronzer

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop, online & in-store?
A: (In Store)
Forever 21
Urban Outfitters
Love Culture
(Online)

Q: How did you get into modeling? Do you have any tips or advice for girls who are interested in becoming a model?
A: I had a friend in high school that had me model with him for one of his friend's shoots. After that I became friends with the photographer as well & we started shooting together. He recommended me to some of his colleagues and I started shooting with them too. After that I started posting pictures from my shoots on Facebook & Tumblr and other photographers got in contact with me. I'd say a little self promotion never hurt anyone. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there because if you feel good & like what you're doing then others will too.

Q: What songs, artists or music in general are you currently into, playlist?
A: Hmm, I have a music taste that can kind of be all over. A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey, La Dispute, Mayday Parade & Brand New are some of my faves!

Q: What are you most excited about for this summer?
A: Crop tops, high wasted shorts and thigh highs! They my favorite! I wish I could wear them all the
time.

What Is To Come...

Well here's the tumblr post for the week! I'm so sorry that I haven't really been keeping up with my blog, but now that my macbook is fixed, I shall be posting! This week I've been really loving a lot of travel & vintage photography. And one thing I've also slowly been getting into has been runway, models & designers. This also inspires me to do so much more with my blog & it's giving me so many amazing ideas! This following week I was thinking about maybe doing a "street style" kind of post & interview. It might come to be a difficult task, due to the fact that my current location has only a few people who catch my eye. So these might be a rare treat for all of you. Other than that, you'll be seeing everything from me, including hauls, reviews, events, journal entries, & much more!
